Confidently Calling Upon God - 16 Dec 12

Father Robert McTeigue, S.J.

The Guardian Angel by Pietro da Cortona, 1656Jesus lived His whole life fully confident of His Father's love.  We must do the same.

As human beings, we're weak, we're vulnerable, we're prone to worry, anxiety and sometimes even to panic.  We also live in a world that can be indifferent and dangerous.  As a result, the world can make us feel like orphans.

Christians are not orphans.  We don't have to fend for ourselves.  Saint Paul writes, "Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition and thanksgiving, make your requests to God."  If we live and pray with the confidence that is stronger than fear then Saint Paul tells us the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.
