Persistent Prayer - 20 Oct 13

Fr Steve Voyt

Persistent PrayerIn the readings we hear about the power of prayer and how God challenges us to be persistent in our prayer.

Many of us expect our prayers to be answered.  We ask God for help but when our prayers aren't answered the way we expect we become discouraged.  We think that God isn't listening to us.

God hears all your prayers; however, your prayers aren't always answered the way you want or expect.  As our parents have reminded us, sometimes "No" is the answer.  But that doesn't mean we should stop praying.  In fact, just the opposite is true.  We must be persistent in our prayer life.  God says to keep asking; keep inviting God into your life.

Father Steve asks that we honestly assess ourselves.  How much you do pray?  What role is prayer in your life?  What we you praying for?  What answers do you expect from God?
