Part of our Christian faith is for us to get involved. To stand up and speak out, to give witness to our faith. In this homily, Father Steve talks about such a person, John the Baptist, the greatest of all the prophets, the bridge between the Old and New Testaments.
Father Steve explains John the Baptist's role and how he challenged the establishment despite the consequences. While John the Baptist didn't have all the answers, he put his trust in God.
As Christians, we are called to be prophets, like John the Baptist. Prophets don't tell the future; rather, they are called to bring people back to God. We are called to bring people to God. We do this by being inviting, loving, and showing others how our faith gives us a purpose and a direction.
