Who do you Say Jesus is? - 24 Aug 14
Fr Jude Shayo, A.J.
In the Gospel, Jesus and His disciples ventured into the District of Caesarea Philippi, an area about 25 miles northeast of the Sea of Galilee and about 120 miles from Jerusalem. Jesus looked at His disciples and in a moment of reflection asked, "Who do men say that I am?" The disciples shared with Jesus what they have heard from the people who have been following Jesus.
Jesus then asks the disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” The Lord knew that Peter and the disciples could now be led into new steps of deeper truth and service.
Father Jude emphasizes that Jesus is not asking us if we know His name or not. Jesus wants to know whether his presence has a meaning, to you, in your life.
